Net Servios upgrading network for 100k households in So Paulo

(BNamericas.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Brazil's largest pay TV provider Net Servios (Nasdaq: NETC) is upgrading its network to improve its service offerings for over 100,000 households in several neighborhoods of So Paulo city, Net Servios said in a statement.



The expansion will enable residents to receive cable TV and high-speed broadband (NET Virtua) as well as fixed line voice services provided by fixed line operator Embratel's (NYSE: EMT) NET Fone service in neighborhoods such as Freguesia do , Pirituba, Cidade Lder and Parque So Domingos. Embratel and Net Servios are both part of Mexican telephony giant Telmex (NYSE: TMX).

Net already offers triple play services to 8.9mn households across 79 cities in Brazil and had 2.3mn customers for pay TV, 2.12mn for broadband and 354,000 for voice services at the end of 2Q07.

Net Servios posted revenues of 698mn reais (US$379mn) in April-June this year compared to 546mn reais a year ago.
