Iusacell Cellular Certifies Encore Networks' Routers

Sep 18, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Encore Networks announced that Iusacell Cellular, a Mexican cellular provider, has certified their VPN router, the BANDIT-II, for CDMA and EVDO applications.

After passing a series of technical and compatibility tests in their Mexico City labs, Iusacell Cellular has approved the BANDIT-II to provide secure, high speed data over cellular for corporate applications throughout Mexico.

Iusacell Cellular, a member of Grupo Salinas, was the first wireless cellular service provider in Mexico with 3G CDMA/EVDO technology. They offer a range of telecommunications services and multi-media applications including local and long-distance telephony, messaging services, mobile television, and wireless broadband to over 4 million subscribers.

"Iusacell stands by its commitment to clients, employees and suppliers to maintain the highest quality standards in daily operations by continuously offering more and better communications services," said David Silva, Encore Networks Director of Latin American Sales. "With this certification, the BANDIT-II can integrate with Iusacell's existing systems and will meet the stringent corporate requirements supporting current and broadband cellular applications." Encore's BANDIT-II is an integrated VPN router complete with firewall, terminal server, serial-to-IP conversion, legacy-to-IP conversion and VPN functionalities. The EVDO capabilities of the BANDIT-II can be utilized in either the primary or failover network port. The cellular failover feature is ideally suited for Disaster Recovery applications.

Designed in both industrially hardened (rugged) and commercial grade versions, the BANDIT-II ensures secure, high-throughput data networking connections directly to cellular, VSAT or terrestrial networks. The BANDIT-II supports private or public digital facilities, MPLS-based IP services and other broadband services.
