Feb 27, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Delta Air Lines has introduced its new daily non-stop flight between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport and the Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City.
Service between Mexico City and Fort Lauderdale starts on July 1, 2013 and from Fort Lauderdale and Mexico City it starts on the following day.
"The route will be serviced by a Boeing 737-700 and will offer audio and video on demand in the entire aircraft, and WiFi during the US continental portion of the flight. We will also serve a complimentary light snack in the coach cabin," said Steve Long, Director of Latin American Network Planning.
"We are seeking to offer our customers the convenience of increased routes to popular business and leisure destinations like Mexico City and Fort Lauderdale," said Carlos Hernandez, Country Director for Delta Air Lines in Mexico.
"The non-stop three and one-half hour flight is particularly convenient for business travelers looking to get an early start at meetings in Mexico City and to be able to return to Florida by the closing of the business day. We also are increasing our coverage of the Florida market by complementing the 31 weekly directional Aeromexico and Delta code-shared flights between South Florida and Mexico. This makes 28 weekly or three daily flights between Miami and Mexico and three weekly flights between Miami and Merida."
