Brazil : OI spends BRL 20 million in RONDONIA in H1 [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oi, a Brazilian operator has spent BRL 20 million in the state of Rondonia in the first half of the year.

This year, Oi TV increased its coverage to 41 municipalities, covering 100 percent of the state. In mobile telephony, the firm deployed 26 4G sites, besides the 86 current 2G sites and 64 3G sites in the state. At present, the mobile phone coverage is available in 34 municipalities, and the 3G service is offered in ten cities. From January to June of 2014, the firm deployed 9,600 broadband internet accesses in Rondonia.



Moreover during the first six months, Oi also expanded its Oi Wi-Fi network by 80 percent, arriving at 7,000 access points.
