Telefonica Vivo to manage telecom services at Brazil airport

(EFE Ingles Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sao Paulo, Oct 10 (EFE).- Telefonica Vivo, the Brazilian unit of Spain's Telefonica, has reached an agreement to manage telecommunications services at the Viracopos International Airport in southeastern Brazil.

The company signed a partnership agreement with Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos S.A., the airport's operator, to provide voice, data and IT services, the Madrid-based multinational said Thursday.

The contract includes the permanent presence of a team of technicians to provide service to the airport administration and to stores located at the facility.

The agreement will facilitate and streamline communications management at the airport by centralizing all infrastructure in a single provider, Telefonica said.

The Viracopos airport serves Greater Campinas, the second-largest metropolitan area in Sao Paulo state. EFE ag/mc (c) 2014 EFE News Services (U.S.) Inc.
