Maintenance Connection Completes Annual Trip to Give Back to Underserved Communities

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Davis, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 Maintenance Connection's staff just returned from a European trip that embodies the company's mission to prioritize giving back to communities around the world. The CMMS company's efforts began in 2011 when it kicked off annual "MC Gives Back" trips, sending staff around the world to serve non-profit organizations with unmet needs. Through these Gives Back trips, Maintenance Connection hopes to make a difference in the lives of others by investing time and resources. They've tackled quite a lot on international trips in the last few years. In 2011 they traveled to Cambodia and built computer labs for students. In 2012 they went to Costa Rica and helped rebuild portions of the homes of needy local families. In 2013 they traveled to Mexico to make structural improvements at a school in need of significant repair.

The Maintenance Connection team just returned from Estonia, a small country in Eastern Europe that was once part of the former Soviet Union. The team began this year's project by serving underprivileged residents at a soup kitchen in Tallinn, the country's capital. The entire team pitched in, serving soup, bread, and smiles to almost 200 people who perhaps have little to smile about. They then moved to a small school in the town of Voru in Southern Estonia. Due to a lack of government funding, the school had fallen into disrepair and Maintenance Connection was able to partner with the local community's efforts to revitalize it. The team's renovation projects included painting the school's gymnasium and installing a new computer lab. Maintenance Connection donated 20 brand new computers to the school, two ceiling-mounted projectors and screens, and a brand new wide-area wireless router which gave the school a reliable local wireless network.

In addition to trips outside of the U.S., California-based Maintenance Connection brings the giving back concept home through an initiative they've called "1-1-1? which includes giving back in the three ways. First, they give away 1% of their profits to causes and non-profit organizations through monetary donations. Second, they give away an additional 1% of profits in free or discounted software to organizations that need, but cannot afford, CMMS software. Third, Maintenance Connection employees give 1% of their on-the-clock hours each month to local non-profits. "We believe in a corporate responsibility to give back to our communities and impact our world in a positive way. This concept has made its way into the fabric of our organization in how we treat our customers and employees, and the methods by which we do business," said Brad Squires, Vice President.

In 2015 Maintenance Connection plans to shift its focus towards regional and local ways to serve several communities in the United States.
