Global Think Technology “GTT,” provides real-time billing and customer care solutions for carriers - so they can successful offer wireless, broadband, wireline and next-gen communication services.

The company’s Denwa brand provides next gen. softswitch and virtual PBX (News - Alert) applications for the Latin America market. These open source communications products make use of Sangoma boards and help operators easily publish applications and earn revenues.

I took some time recently to chat with Diego Ghione, president of GlobalThink Technology, to find out more about the company and their offerings.

Our exchange follows.

SV: Can you provide a brief description of the company, products/solutions you offer and the market(s) you target?

DG: GlobalThink (GTT) was established in 2002 to create and provide next gen. solutions. A number of the company owners and developers had backgrounds working on projects for NASA.

In 2003, we created a solution OEM “GBill,” for companies in the U.S. and won “Best product of 2003,” at ITEXPO (News - Alert).

In 2008, we also won company of the year in Argentina, and in 2008, we began certification (ISO90001) for our new products - “Denwa.”

Denwa, our new line of products, include IP-PBX, Virtual PBX, Mobile PBX, and Softswitch with SS7 GTW- all of which use Sangoma boards.

GlobalThink started Denwa Networks and a store for asterisk developers in 2010 after realizing the many issues faced by the PBX market, and created their own PBX framework for Denwa and other OEMS including Red Global in Argentina.

With our Denwa softswitch and virtual PBX, we are targeting the T2, T3, Cooperatives, Carriers and VoIP telecom market.

Our Denwa IP-PBX is focused on soho, medium and large enterprises.

After just our first year, Denwa is already in use by government and banking customers.

The Bank of Guayaquil for example, is using the Denwa IP-PBX to manage all their communications in place of their past NEC solution.

Also company’s like Diveo, UOL, Globalstar (News - Alert), GTD, Convergia and others are using Denwa Softswitch.

In addition, the offering is also being use to manage entire cities including Guayaquil, Chile, Buenos Aires, Tancacha(CBA) and others.

SV: Global Industry Analysts released a study that predicted sales in the global IP-PBX market to hit $9.05 billion by 2015.  What are your thoughts? How has the increased adoption of IP communications impacted your business?

DG: Our company was born with a purpose to for the NGN market – and while we are involved in both the old softswitch market and new IP-PBX Market - we move very fast  - creating distributor channels to increase sales using local partners in each country. In just the IP-PBX market, we are planning to have $9M in sales in the next 3 years with Denwa and we reserve this on part of the OEMs because we are in NDA with partners.

SV: How can service providers benefit from your offerings?

Softswitch providers can find benefit because we offer a complete solution for new telcos or migrations for old telcos that include interconnection (SS7 with Sangoma), Softswitch, Billing, Provisioning, Number portability, User Portal and e-commerce.

All over the world, local providers are looking for solutions that can integrate or replace the switch and deliver applications and real time solutions customer demand.

We also offer an API for Developers.

In addition, Denwa is focusing on managing all communications with the integration of Denwa Social Network for Business which includes a softphone with IM and HD video conference, unlimited trunk and extensions, call center and billing modules, security and biometric options as well as Blackberry Manager, and so much more.

SV: Can you talk about your IP-PBX solution, and what it provides?

DG: Denwa not only unifies applications the real world needs, we also license NGN support.

After just six months in the market, we received tons of great feedback for the ability of the PBX to support basic customers and the ability to auto update new features and versions – moving Denwa to the next level.

SV: Can you talk a little about how the company makes use of Sangoma’s technologies and the benefits provided?

DG: We started Denwa with Sangoma in mind. We thought, with the Denwa softswitch, it would be possible to move Sangoma to the Carrier level.

Sangoma was also a perfect partner for the Denwa IP-PBX and that could help provide quality products for our Denwa Appliance while offering the quality and warranty we needed.
