Megapay, a division of Hong Kong-based cloud computing giant Megaworld, together with MJV, a Brazilian company that combines technology services, innovation and mobile solutions, introduced mobile payment services into the Brazilian market.

The Brazilian customers of Megaworld, by using Megapay's and MJV's proprietary technologies, are now able to make payments for any Megaworld service via mobile phone by submitting their phone number to Megapay's payment platform. They are also securely authenticated through a web PIN sent to their mobile phone via SMS, which allows them to immediately enjoy unlimited access to Megaworld premium services. The service of Megapay helps Megaworld customers to use their mobile phones as wallets and brings Megaworld's services to more than 90 percent of the Brazilian population.

A phenomenal growth has been witnessed by Megaworld in Brazil and the Latin American region. Megaworld, since 2005, has experienced a 100 percent year on year growth in registered subscribers. Its total client base in Brazil is almost five million registered subscribers with 13 million active in Latin America. Some of the popular services include Megaupload, a premier player in cloud storage, as well as Megavideo, a video streaming site.

Megabox, a cloud-based music hosting and streaming service; Megapix, an online marketplace for stock photography and hosting of pictures; Megalive, an innovative broadcasting service that anyone can use, are some of the recent additions to the Megaworld portfolio.

"The Brazilian market has responded overwhelmingly well over the past five years to Megaworld's service offerings. We are committed to the Brazilian market and are positive that our payment solutions will succeed in allowing more people, in more places the ability to pay for and use our group's services. We are also extremely fortunate to have MJV as our local partner. Their input and assistance in launching our services has been invaluable and we look forward to a bright future with MJV in Brazil", said Emmanuel Gadaix, CTO of Megapay, in a press release.

In technology related news, eGestalt, a provider of information technology governance, risk management and compliance solutions, has announced the US availability of SecureGRC SB, a patent-pending Cloud computing and Software-as-a-Service.
