Alternet Systems, Inc. has announced that its subsidiary, Utiba Americas, is planning to target sales in the promising Brazilian market and will be meeting with prospective clients at the upcoming GSMA (News - Alert) Mobile Money Summit Show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Utiba Americas is a joint venture of Tekvoice Communications with Utiba Pte Ltd. Over 320 million subscribers use the Utiba platform, and it supports approximately 60 percent of the mobile payments made around the world.
Financial institutions, mobile operators, governments, corporations and retailers are offered by Utiba Americas, the ability to design and deploy reliable, advanced, mobile commerce and banking services to their customers by using the Utiba Americas hosted platform.
Mobile commerce holds great promise in developing countries, as a significant proportion of the adult population does not have a traditional bank account.
Brazilis the second largest market in Americas; having over 176 million cellular subscribers in 2009, which represented a penetration level of over 91 percent of the population.
