Acronis MSP Services Now Available Through Ingram Micro in South America, Central America and the Caribbean
By Peter Bernstein

Small and medium-sized companies throughout South and Central America and the Caribbean will now have access to the full portfolio of managed service provider (MSP) services and other solutions of data backup and disaster recovery company Acronis, the world's largest technology distributor and supply-chain services provider. . On August 17, Acronis announced that its MSP and suite of capabilities -- the protection of data in physical, virtual and cloud environments -- will be accessible in these regions as a result of the extension of its distribution relationship with Ingram Micro Inc.

In a press release announcing the extension, it was noted that Ingram Micro (News - Alert) channel partners will not have access to a wider range of data protection and business continuity programs based on the Acronis product suite.

Eduardo Maurizi, market development manager, Ingram Micro Latin America, stated that, "Acronis recognizes the value we bring to the small- to medium-sized business, as well as enterprise markets as demand for, and adoption of, data backup and recovery solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments continues to grow. Acronis' backup, recovery and virtualization solutions offer the features and capabilities these organizations are looking for when it comes to data protection, virtualization and disaster recovery.”

Xavier Aguirre, Sales Director of Latin America at Acronis, stated, "We are pleased to have extended our agreement with the world's largest technology distributor to develop a new sales channel for our market-leading solutions…We look forward to working with the Ingram Micro team and leveraging their advanced marketing programs and extensive VAR channel.”

With data protection and disaster recovery becoming an ever increasing concern for SMBs and medium-sized companies as they move more and more of their businesses online, rather than creating an in-house capability to protect their critical information assets, they are increasingly turning to MSPs as an attractive option to mitigate their risks. Ingram Micro, with its intimate relationships with this customer set, rightly sees the value of offering customers and channel partners an MSP data protection and disaster recovery suite as a great compliment to its capabilities. Extending the agreement with Acronis to cover these robust emerging markets was a natural.
