Orange Business Services (News - Alert), a division of the France Telecom-Orange, and a global integrator of communications solutions, unveiled its plan to expand the capacity of its Latin American network by ten times due to growing demand from its multinational enterprise customers. Latin America is a key growth market for Orange Business Services.

The Company’s press release indicated that the expansion will begin in October 2011, covering Brazil and Chile, followed by Argentina, Peru and Panama. The upgraded network will accommodate customers' needs for expanding high-speed broadband services, including MPLS, International Ethernet Link and video services, such as Telepresence (News - Alert).

"We continue to see increased global expansion not only by our multinational customers looking to grow in Latin America," Mauro Cruzeiro, vice president of Latin America for Orange Business Services said in a press release.

"We also see more and more Latin American enterprises expanding within the region and beyond," Cruzeiro added.

As indicated, the new network ring will connect Latin America to the East Coast of the United States via Brazil and to the West Coast of the United States via Chile (through Peru and Panama). The upgrade, as believed by the company, will enhance quality of service for customers with improved latency to the West Coast, while also supporting the growing capacity requirements from Asia-Pacific.

As part of the company's conquests 2015 growth strategy, Orange Business Services aims to generate revenues of EUR1 billion in emerging markets in 2015.
