Bolivian telecommunications service provider Nuevatel, a key member of the Trilogy group, has selected Comverse (News - Alert) ONE Billing & Active Customer Management for converged rating and charging to enhance its Viva market offering, while achieving significant OPEX (News - Alert) reduction.Officials with Comverse said that this selection by Nuevatel is part of a global framework agreement that will see Comverse ONE advantages extended to other service providers in the Trilogy group."Billing has advanced far beyond its traditional role; its innovative capabilities now make it a vital springboard for revenue growth and service innovation,” said Wilson Saavedra, Vice President, IT at Nuevatel, in a statement.
The advanced and converged services that we expect to launch with Comverse ONE will differentiate our offering and take quick advantage of a broad range of market opportunities as they arise," said Saavedra.
"As our incumbent vendor, Comverse knows us well – and we knew their solution was the best choice for this major upgrade," he said.
Lionel Chmilewsky, senior vice president, head of customer facing group at Comverse said that the capabilities and excellent converged user experience that distinguish true BSS convergence -- together with OPEX savings – can have far-reaching business benefits for communication service providers (CSPs).
Chmilewsky said that the best compliment one can receive from a customer is to be invited back.
“Comverse ONE's growing global success owes much to the many CSPs like Nuevatel who express their appreciation of the quality of our products and service by choosing us anew to be partners in their next phase of growth," he added.
Recently, Comverse, a major player in BSS, mobile Internet and value-added services, had announced that Cycle30, a provider of hosted billing services for communications, utility and machine-to-machine service operators, has chosen the Comverse BSS solution to power its billing and rating services platform for its growing machine-to-machine (M2M) markets business.
