Clearfield, Inc., a company specializing in fiber optic communication and connectivity solutions for Internet (and other) service providers, just announced that it will be welcoming Rafael Fernandez to the company, to fill the position of Regional Sales Manager for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. Fernandez, a citizen of Miami, Florida, has accepted the responsibility of managing the company's department in this large area. At this moment, Clearfield (News - Alert) already has departments opened and developments established in countries like Costa Rica, Jamaica, Guatemala, Trinidad, Grenada, Panama and the United States Virgin Islands.
"Rafael will be a wonderful addition to our technical sales resources," said Cheri Beranek, CEO of Clearfield. "Bringing Raf on staff is consistent with our strategy of building pockets of customer references as we enter a new market, and then expand with dedicated company resources. Raf joins the company with a strong knowledge of the technology and market space, and I am confident he will make an immediate contribution."
Fernandez commented, "The Clearfield value-proposition, based around the Clearview Cassette and associated FieldSmart fiber management product line, resonates strongly with the broadband operators in the CALA region. I am excited about growing the Clearfield business in this emerging market."
The Early Successes Telecommunications Services within Trinidad and Tobago already uses Clearfield's products to help build its fiber-based infrastructure through 2011. TSTT's OSP Engineer, Lester Marin, said, "Clearfield has been great to work with. The product line fits our footprint. The Cassette is very modular so we can use it whenever we need it throughout the TSTT network."
Other companies, like Power & Telephone Supply, have also commented on Clearfield's products. Paulo Eduardo da Silva, the International Managing Director for Power & Telephone Supply, said, "We're thrilled to be working with Clearfield's expanding presence. The CALA market is ripe with opportunity and Clearfield's product line is filling a unique niche."
