In an effort to put more calling hours in the hands of iPhone (News - Alert) and Android users, Vonage has launched a mother’s day special promotional offer.

According to a press release, this mother’s day, Vonage is offering free calling promotion through the company's Vonage Mobile app. The limited time promotion allows the Vonage Mobile users to call their mothers (or anyone else) for free on landline phones in select North and South American countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
“We provide feature-rich, affordable communication solutions that offer flexibility, portability and ease-of-use,” Vonage officials said. “Under its World plan, Vonage offers unlimited calling to more than 60 countries with popular features like call waiting, call forwarding and visual voicemail, for one low monthly rate. Vonage's service is sold on the Web and through regional and national retailers including Wal-Mart, Best Buy (News - Alert), Kmart and Sears, and is available to customers in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
In order to avail the promotion, callers simply need to download the free Vonage Mobile app to their iPhone or Android (News - Alert) device from either the iTunes Store or Google Play. Users do not need to be a Vonage home service customer to download Vonage Mobile or to take advantage of this promotion.
Using the app, the callers can make free high-definition calls and send free texts and photos to other Vonage Mobile users worldwide. The app works over Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G wireless data networks.
In addition to the Mother's Day promotion, calls to any phone in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico from anywhere in the world are currently free for Vonage Mobile users.
