The Latin American communication market is expecting a huge surge in business. To expand its geographical coverage in this high-growth market, O2 (News - Alert) Secure Wireless, a wireless broadband provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a Central American cable company.
Both parties have agreed to collaborate on the continued and expanded delivery of wireless broadband services within South America, according to the MOU.
The agreement will be followed by a 60-day Due Diligence process. Provided the evaluation process brings out favorable data, the company will consider taking controlling interest in the operating cable company.
In the next step, O2 Secure will focus on expanding its Internet and home phone services in the region. A controlling interest in the cable company will enable O2 to deliver these services instantly to an already well-established customer base.
Mobile services utilizing the branded corporate phone will also be offered to complete the package.
O2 Secure has not released the name of the company, and said it will be released once the final agreement is signed in December, 2012 following a thorough legal review the company legal resources.
“We welcome this opportunity to collaborate with this company and thereby expand our product offering and geographic coverage in the promising international market for Cable, Internet and Telephone Service,” said Val Kazia, CEO at O2 Secure Wireless. “This company not only has an established reputation and strong existing consumer base; it has forward-thinking management and up-to-date core infrastructure services. We are confident that the new arrangement will bring significant benefits for both parties and ultimately establish a solid presence in the territory for us.”
Recently, O2 Secure Wireless, Inc. announced the successful completion and highly anticipated launch of demographically targeted Hispanic Television commercial spots.
Said Kazia: “We believe we have found a niche in the Hispanic sector; making our television and radio commercials comparatively advantageous. This is going to be a great sector for the company to serve.”
