Brazil is in for a treat, as Terremark has begun delivering Verizon’s (News - Alert) portfolio of managed and professional security services there, with plans to extend the services throughout Latin America. With these services, enterprises and agencies in Latin America can manage and protect their data better than ever, with a range of protection tools and Verizon’s Research Intelligence Solutions Knowledge (RISK) team.
Verizon’s services provide managed security, network vulnerability management, and security management to businesses of all sizes. They provide access to security experts as well as design and use information security strategies made to fit each business. Included are: on-premise managed security, security management program services and application vulnerability scanning and management.
Furthermore, Verizon’s RISK team provides customers with a full view of the threats to their security, allowing them to understand what they have to watch out for and where their weaknesses are. Threats to security have no borders, after all, so knowing the risks from around the world is important, as is protecting assets and important data from risks and threats outside one’s own network.
These security services have been in demand for a while, and Verizon is responding to the request. It’s set up in Brazil, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, and expanding from there to wherever its services are required.
According to David Keasey, VP of Verizon Security Solution: “Today’s threat landscape requires that organizations in all sectors maintain stringent security for their systems in order to protect their data and the data of their stakeholders. These managed security services, along with security consulting services, are instrumental tools our customers rely on to protect their IT resources. We have a proven track record of continued excellence in these areas and helping customers around the globe safeguard their critical data.”
Verizon has been doing well for itself lately, and this expansion into Latin America should prove beneficial for the company and its customers. It was recently named a leader in managed security services in “The Forrester (News - Alert) Wave,” which speaks for the quality of its services. I expect Verizon’s customers in Latin America should be quite pleased with the improved security and risk management it provides.
