The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) has named Softtek, a provider of IT and business process solutions and a large private IT service provider in Latin America, in the “Leaders” category of the 2009 Global Outsourcing 100 list.

The Global Outsourcing 100 and its sub lists recognize the best outsourcing service providers in the world. Before honoring the companies, IAOP carries out a rigorous review about the service provided by the company by an independent panel of judges. IAOP uses criteria such as excellence in growth, global presence, customer references, company recognitions, company certifications, employee management and executive leadership to evaluate the companies.

Softtek was ranked No. 34 in the overall ranking from the IATOP. The company also received other honors such as Best 20 Leaders by Service Offered: Information/Communications Technology Services; Best 5 Leaders by Region Served: South America; Best 20 Leaders by Industry Focus: Technology (Hardware & Software); Best 20 Leaders by Service Offered: Transaction Processing Services; Best 5 Companies by Region Served: Mexico and Best 20 Leaders by Industry Focus: Discrete Manufacturing.

“We are pleased to receive this prestigious acknowledgement from IAOP,” said Blanca Treviño, president and CEO of Softtek. “This recognition reinforces our strong commitment to customer excellence which we have built in the industry through the Global Nearshore model, designed to fill the gap left by Indian-centric global delivery models.”

At the time of recession, the companies looking for outsourcing services would like to work with the best outsourcers who provide their services at an affordable cost. Global Outsourcing 100 helps them to recognize such companies with their global outsourcing list.

In November, the company announced that Francisco Alvarez-Cascos was appointed as president of Softtek Spain. Alvarez-Cascos served in the government of Spain as vice president (1996-2000) and minister of transportation and public works (2000-2004) during José María Aznar's administration. Softtek opened operations in Spain in 2004, with the opening of its Global Delivery Center (GDC) in A Coruña in Galicia, which currently serves clients worldwide through its trademarked Global Nearshore trade model.
