Synergy Research Group has ranked Siemens (News - Alert) Enterprise Communications Group as the leader in the enterprise telephony market in Latin America and in EMEA for the first quarter of 2009. The company has been leading the enterprise telephony market for the third consecutive quarter in both these regions.

Siemens Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) Group provides a complete range of enterprise solutions that can unify communications for every shape and size of business.

According to the report, in EMEA, Siemens has the highest percent of the IP-PBX (News - Alert) revenue market share which stands at 26 percent. The close competitors of Siemens have earned only 18 and 17 percent market share. However, Siemens has beaten its nearest competitors in the enterprise telephony market by more than double in total IP-PBX revenues (39 percent) in Latin America.

IP-PBX comprises a critical element of enterprise telephony which combines LAN telephony and converged telephony. The use of enterprise telephony products in both EMEA and Latin America provides an opportunity for Siemens to offer strong service and support for its customers.

According to Ken Landoline, Vice President of Research for Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group, their research shows that consistent performance of Siemens has positioned it ahead of its competitors in certain geographic regions based on the company's commitment to open standards and future extensibility for unified communications technologies.

Customers will be able to migrate easily to IP-based communications within any existing communications environment by following Siemens' OpenPath migration strategy.

According to Lars-Ole Hansen, Senior Vice President, Head of EMEA Sales at Siemens Enterprise Communications, customers like The Danish Agency for Governmental Management find value in their Open Communications strategy which offers a standards- and software-based approach to enterprise communication designed to provide greater flexibility, reduced risk and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
