Nimbuzz has reportedly launched updates for both iPhone and iPod touch application and also unveiled a brand new desktop client for Apple (News - Alert) Mac computers.

Nimbuzz is a mobile social messenger, combining instant messaging, geo-presence and VoIP. The free application is available on the mobile, PC and Web, for instant messaging, location sharing, group calling, group chat, and file sharing across popular communities and the new updates will enable the product to work on Mac desktops and laptops in addition to the iPhone (News - Alert), iPod touch and a wide range of other mobile handsets.

Nimbuzz claims that it is already enjoying Top 10 ranking on all iTunes AppStores in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, including regular No. 1 “What’s Hot” positions in influential iPhone markets such as the U.K. Its app for iPhone and iPod has achieved massive penetration among European customers.

With the new Mac Desktop client and the iPhone, Nimbuzz update hopes to expand its dominance. As a natural step in the evolution of Nimbuzz platform-specific development and support strategy, the launch of the comprehensive Apple suite is designed to capture the future growth potential of this platform.

The Apple suite matches the familiar design and UI style of the Apple products and is loaded with unique features users haven’t experienced yet. Nimbuzz states that with the Mac Desktop client users can connect and interact with friends from the most popular instant messaging communities and social networks like, Facebook, AIM, MySpace, Google (News - Alert) Talk (Orkut), Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger (MSN), ICQ and many more right from their iMac or MacBook.

The iPhone and iPod upgrades allow users to share photos, music and videos and the unique feature is that the files are stored online and they can be accessed from different access points. This feature allows users to save device memory.

Nimbuzz has added a brand-new buddy list layout like the landscape-mode chat for the iPhone and dial-up VoIP over 3G and 2G networks. It features a display of avatars and presence information including which community a friend belongs to and if that person is currently online on a mobile phone or computer. Another feature called “location sharing” has been integrated into the iPhone which allows Nimbuzz buddies to share and retrieve their physical locations on a map, making it easier than ever to find each other.

Nimbuzz CEO Evert-Jaap Lugt has stated that the company loves the design and the flawless usability of Apple products and a large proportion of their substantial iPhone fan base are also Mac users and have been asking for a bespoke version of Nimbuzz for their desktop and laptop Macs. The company had worked with their users to ensure the suite of iPhone and Mac products work seamlessly together, he said, matching the familiar design and UI style of Apple products.

Nimbuzz had recently selected Voxbone to enable its users to make voice calls to their contacts on any IM and VoIP service and Vyke announced the formation of a strategic alliance with Nimbuzz.
