AT&T reportedly introduced the unlimited talk and text feature in its GoPhone package. It is a new prepaid feature package which offers nationwide calling and unlimited texting within the U.S. The pay-as-you-go feature also allows texting facility to Mexico, Canada and over 100 other countries.

The new service lets subscribers talk all day and all night for $60 a month. The package option also includes unlimited IM, picture and video messages, AT&T (News - Alert) said.

“We recognize GoPhone customers have a need for unlimited calling or texting without the commitment of an annual contract,” said Judy Cavalieri, vice president of prepaid products for AT&T mobility and consumer markets, in a statement. “The new Unlimited Talk and Text package enhances our prepaid options to give customers the flexibility of a national network with no contract requirement.”

AT&T GoPhone offers consumers selection from a wide range of mobile devices including full keyboard devices like LG Neon which is available in all AT&T stores and other retail locations. GoPhone customers opting for the Simple Rate Plan can buy the Unlimited Talk and Text package by calling 611 from their handset or use the landline phone, said company sources.

The “Pick Your Plan” offer from AT&T allows users to pay in advance for a monthly rate plan and it does not include a contract, credit check or deposit.

GoPhone offered two options at the time of introduction, a card-based pay as you go service that allows customers to purchase a reload card with a preloaded dollar amount which is deductible from an account based on usage. The second is the Pick Your Plan option which is a prepaid service including all features present in a post-paid calling plan.

The new Unlimited Talk and Text service was slated to launch today.

The AT&T 3G network enables the optimized provision of several services including wireless, Wi-Fi, high speed Internet and voice services. AT&T also offers advanced TV services under the AT&T U-verse and DIRECTV brands besides offering IP-based business communications services.
