Magellan GPS recently announced the availability of Magellan RoadMate App for iPhone (News - Alert), launched for United States and Puerto Rico.
The interface of Magellan RoadMate App for iPhone is very much identical to that of its dedicated personal navigation devices. This app contains no hidden charges and it is a one-time purchase application with no recurring subscription fees. The Magellan RoadMate App for iPhone works nice on the iPod touch 2G, but the Magellan Premium Car Kit is sold separately.
The Magellan RoadMate App changes your iPhone 3G or 3GS into an easy-to-use navigator with voice-enabled street name guidance. Some of the other important features of Magellan RoadMate App for iPhone include highway lane assist, in-app music control, iPhone address book integration, pedestrian Mode, current maps provision by NAVTEQ (News - Alert)
It is available at iTunes App store at an introductory price of $39.99.
The new Magellan RoadMate is a fully featured GPS solution for the iPhone. It takes highway signs and some 3D landmarks as reference points and allows us to choose the travel destination from our address book contacts with the help of a “One Touch” feature. It also features highly-acclaimed QuickSpell with SmartCity search for error free writing.
